Valentine Cards

Valentine cards are fun to make.  They lend themselves to including fabric and trim bits.  Somewhere in my travels I picked up a leftover piece of red velveteen.  Of course that ended up as the base for Valentine cards.

I still am using black as a base.  Here is one that is a combination of paper and fabric.

Here is one that showcases a ribbon that was on deep discount after Christmas.

I had to try Angelina fibers.  It is some kind of plastic fiber that melts when heated and remains shiney.  I embedded thread bits, fabric bits and paper bits.

And sometimes a fabric just feels like it belongs in Valentine cards.

At work I have a desk next to a 23 year old who is originally from Sri Lanka.  I tried to explain Valentine's Day to her.  She doesn't have those memories of Valentine exchanges in grade school.  Talk about a piece of American Culture!!
